Why This Matters

A life policy taken out "back home" doesn't always follow you abroad.

Three things we see again and again with expat families.

🧭

Cover that doesn't travel

Many life policies are written with restrictions on where you can live and work. Move to a new country and the cover you thought you had can quietly stop applying.

✈️

Families left to cope alone, far from home

Beyond the financial loss, there's flights, translations, local paperwork and getting a loved one's remains home — usually while grieving, in an unfamiliar country.

🗓️

Cover set once, never revisited

A policy taken out years ago rarely keeps pace with a new country, a new family, or a mortgage that's grown since you last checked.

What's Included

More than a payout — practical support when it's needed most

Regency for Expats' International Life Insurance is built specifically for people living outside their home country. Cover is arranged individually, with the sum insured agreed and confirmed on your Certificate of Insurance.

Core Cover

Death Benefit

A lump sum paid to your beneficiaries — or your estate — designed to protect your family's lifestyle and remove the worry of financial hardship.

Fast Access

Upfront Payment

10% of the sum insured released within 24–48 hours of confirmed eligibility, so beneficiaries aren't left covering flights, visas or legal costs out of pocket while a claim is finalised.

Family Support

Child Chaperone

Covers travel costs for a next of kin or guardian to collect and escort unaccompanied children home, so they're never left to navigate it alone.

Family Support

Bereavement Counselling

24-hour access to qualified counsellors for family, friends and colleagues — practical advice and confidential support at a difficult time.

Practical Help

Mortal Remains Repatriation

Covers the cost of repatriating you to your chosen country, with an experienced team handling customs, transport, local authorities and red tape.

Practical Help

24-Hour International Assistance

A single number that coordinates everything — case management, liaison with emergency services, and administration of every benefit on the policy.

Geographically transferable, worldwide.

Move from one country — or continent — to another, and your cover moves with you. No restrictive geographic limits, and no need to re-arrange cover every time your address changes.

Good To Know

The honest print, in plain English

Every insurance policy has terms and limits — here are the ones worth knowing upfront.

Cover is arranged individually

There's no fixed price list — the sum insured and premium are agreed with you and confirmed on your own Certificate of Insurance, based on your age, health and circumstances.

14-day cooling-off period

If the cover isn't right for you, you can cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund of premiums paid, less any applicable administration charge — provided no claim has been made or attempted.

Pre-existing conditions

Conditions you already knew about before your start date generally aren't covered unless specifically declared and accepted in writing beforehand.

Standard exclusions apply

As with any life policy, claims relating to suicide within a set period, self-inflicted injury, or death during an illegal act aren't covered. Full terms are set out in the policy wording.
